Party ideas to play together
Print this page and try these games together — at home, in the park or at the party. No sign-up and nothing to fill in.
Freeze dance
You need: Music you can pause
- Play a song and dance any way you like.
- When the music stops, freeze like a statue!
- Try silly freeze shapes: a tree, a rocket, a sleepy cat.
Grown-up tip: Nobody is ever out — everyone keeps dancing every round.
Balloon keep-up
You need: One balloon, blown up by a grown-up
- Tap the balloon up into the air.
- Keep it from touching the floor — use hands, elbows, even your head!
- Count how many taps you can do together.
Grown-up tip: Children under 8 can choke on uninflated or broken balloons: pick up every piece right away, and always supervise.
Animal parade
You need: Nothing at all
- Take turns choosing an animal without saying it out loud.
- Move and sound like that animal.
- Everyone else guesses which animal it is.
Grown-up tip: Little ones can whisper their animal to a grown-up first.
Treasure hunt
You need: Five small things to hide, like a spoon, a sock or a toy
- A grown-up hides the treasures around one room.
- Give clues: "It's somewhere soft" or "Look up high!"
- Hunt together until all five are found.
Grown-up tip: For younger children, draw a picture of each treasure as the clue.
Simon says
You need: One leader
- The leader gives actions: "Simon says touch your nose!"
- Only follow when the leader says "Simon says" first.
- Swap leaders so everyone gets a turn.
Grown-up tip: Keep it gentle — a giggle instead of being out.
Story circle
You need: Everyone sitting together
- One person starts a story with one sentence.
- The next person adds the next sentence.
- Keep going around until the story has an ending.
Grown-up tip: Start with "Once upon a time, at the most magical party…"
Draw your dream party
Who's there? What games will you play? What does the cake look like?
For grown-ups
- Clear a space with nothing to trip over or bump into.
- Stay close by and play along — that's half the fun.
